      We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Purchasing manager to join our AVMRO team in Bloomfield, CT.  The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for creating and maintaining purchase orders for contractors, and  assisting byers  on request for quotes,  handling expediting  of RFQs & POs, updating POs dates, part lead times, gathering vendor instructions and drawings for request for quotes, tracking and communication critical item shipments. Also responsible for tracking tools at suppliers, supplier tool audits, and requesting tool transfers, and resolving receiving dock purchase discrepancies, and other administrative duties. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist Buyers with vendor returns, and supplier request for variation allowance
    • Assist Buyers with gathering drawings and vendor instructions required for quotes.
    • Assist Buyers in quote generation and requests
    • Responsible for requesting tool transfers
    • Responsible for yearly review of purchase lead times in the system and updating as required
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining Contractor, and services PO’s
    • Responsible for conducting supplier tool audits, and maintaining status spreadsheet
    • Assist buyers with populating item replenishment parameters into system
    • Responsible for Compile and Issue reports as required.
    • Work with buyers to resolve discrepancies with suppliers such as back orders, pricing, late deliveries
    • Scan and file PO packets
    • Expedite critically needed parts
    • Monitor order status and follow up to ensure supplier OTD
    • Calibrate with buyers and other functional departments to help resolve supplier problems
    • Review open purchase orders for impact on schedules and calibrate with buyers to resolve problems
    • Other administrative duties, projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education

     

    • Associates degree, or working towards degree completion or 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment 

    Experience

    • 6 months to a year in a manufacturing environment working in supply chain  

     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook)
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Open to continuous change with the ability to learn new skills
    • Builds positive team spirit by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships and interdepartmental group commitments to effectively achieve production goals and objectives
    • Proficient in the effective use of MRP/ERP system
    • Ability to work under pressure, meets deadlines, and work independently with little supervision.
