    We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Advanced Quality Assurance Systems Specialist to join our AVMRO team in Bloomfield, CT.  Working under the direction of Quality Management, with minimum supervision. Advanced Quality Assurance Systems Specialist supports all Quality Assurance Policies, Programs, KPI's, Surveys and Audits, RCCA, R&I, AS9100, FAA Part 21, Part 145 requirements along with any other state or regulatory agency.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support the Development and recommend inspections and sampling techniques, quality plans or process control procedures that will ensure production of finished or in process products, meet customer, program and company quality specifications or standards.
    • Participate in the establishment of department Procedures, Internal schedules, Goals and Objectives and support processes working with the Quality Management for optimum performance adhering to program and department parameters.
    • Assume quality systems administrative responsibilities for AVMRO  or other departs needing QA administration. Responsibilities include a robust adherence to all OEM and Company Certifications (NADCAP, AS9100, and FAA) as well as the Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Processes and Procedures. Primary focal point for ensuring Employee required Test, Licenses and Certifications are maintained and are kept current.
    • Assist in the Development and overseeing the supplier Quality rating system.
    • Responsible for a robust tracking & monitoring of the Root Cause and Corrective Action system (RCCA).
    • Participate in the Quality Clinic Processes and Manufacturing Corrective Action Boards (MCABs)
    • Assist in the Development, implementation and maintenance of a supplier approval system that will, qualify suppliers who will do business with KAC/MRO and meet varied contractual requirements.
    • Provide Continues improvement ideas along with Cost reduction suggestions.
    • Oversee audits at supplier facilities to survey quality systems. Evaluate supplier quality systems, obtain supplier corrective actions. Review process capabilities and data to assure suppliers meet Kaman/Customer specifications and contractual requirements.
    • Assign a risk factor for new suppliers
    • Primary responsibility over the Internal Audit Program. Support and maintain the AS9100 System including Registrar Audit coordination. Maintain the OASIS data base with updates.
    • Assist in performing Internal Audits as necessary and process/records of qualified auditors.
    • Support the Quality Management team with the Federal Aviation (FAA) agency for production (MIDO) and aftermarket (FSDO) issues. (FAA Part 21 & Part 145 Requirements)
    • Support those that interface between the company and suppliers in resolving technical problems. Coordinate with functional departments and ensure the problems are resolved in a timely manner.
    • Support the Quality review process of flowing down QA requirements on supplier Purchase Orders and Review customer Contracts for requirements.
    • Establish and maintain effective communication with other departments and suppliers to facilitate problem identification and resolution and compliance with various specification requirements for supplier control.
    • Working knowledge of ITAR- DFAR - EAR certification requirements.
    • Prepare and maintain reports such as vendor performance, surveys, specifications, corrective actions, etc.
    • Maintain a list of approved vendors and what services they provide.
    • Support receiving inspection to assure all applicable inspections / tests are performed to assure that only acceptable hardware is received into the company.


    GENERAL:  Maintain personal productive and quality standards as determined by supervision.  Follow standard departmental/company practices and procedures, as outlined by management.  Where required to access Department of Defense (DOD) classified information, the candidate must be qualified for the appropriate security clearance.  Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition.  Perform similar and other related duties as required.



    • Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
    • Bachelor degree required. Degree in manufacturing engineering, business management or a related field is preferred.
    • 3-5 years related experience in aircraft airframe and power plant systems.
    • General experience in the aeronautical manufacturing field, previous AS9100, NADCAP or  FAA experience preferred
