      The Adhesive Bonder A works under the direction of Supervisor and/or Production Unit Leaders.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Must have complete knowledge and able to perform all aspects of aerospace composite and metal bonding operations.
    • Work from work orders, process sheets, blueprints, verbal or written instructions, etc.
    • Must have knowledge with operating autoclaves (manual and automated), Gerber / CNC material cutting and composite and metal bond clean up operations.
    • Must be knowledge with Laser Projection lay-up system operations.
    • Must have a good computer skills and knowledgeable with operating CNC machines.
    • Perform assembly or bonding together of various size and shape components using adhesives.
    • Place components in fixture to maintain alignment, padded with fiberglass cloth, enclosed in a vacuum bag and sealed for autoclave and curing.
    • Ability to use hand cutting and trim tools, knives, scissors, razor blades, grinders etc.
    • Must be able to rotate or cover personnel voids on all shifts or when necessary to maintain schedules.
    • Will be required to train new personnel as needed and take responsibility for lower level employees.
    • Assist in moving fixtures as necessary or required.
    • Report defective material or any other unusual circumstance or condition to supervision.
    • Must accomplish ‘Operators Acceptance Program’ certification within 6 months of hire.
    • Must have a good knowledge with LEAN manufacturing.

    Qualifications

    Eduction:  Requires the use of shop mathematics, including decimals and fractions.  Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, specifications, etc., use of adjustable measuring instruments and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications or the posting, preparation, interpretation, and the use and checking of reports, forms, etc.

     

    Experience:  3 to 5 years experience
