    We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Technical Buyer to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. This position performs all phases of procurement and planning in support of company objectives, policies and requirements. They will specialize in planning, procuring machined parts, hardware, and special processes, while ensuring that proper lead times are met to meet the company needs. They will also assist in the liaison with suppliers; suggest structural quality and process improvements, and collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations and Quality in a team environment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate subcontract and special processes in support of product requirements. Develop material requirements from engineering drawings. Schedule and plan requirements according to management, financial, engineering, quality, and schedule objectives. Prepare requests for quotations.
    • Conduct supplier capability assessments, verify supplier capabilities, travel to assigned suppliers, and lead multiple projects to completion.
    • Ensure that visual management tools and metrics are established and maintained.
    • Expedite/prioritize orders as required to meet customer needs.
    • Update material status and coordinate items that are critical or high visibility to the company.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs.
    • Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
    • Identify problem areas. Involve critical individuals/resources to solve problems. Report issues that impact manufacturing flow to Manager.
    • Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
    • Drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
    • Provide a high level of services to all internal and external customers. Contribute to a positive team environment.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to Manager.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. Accomplish related results as needed.


    Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.


    • Education: BS Degree in Engineering or Quality
    • Experience: 2-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, Aerospace industry preferred
