    Our Kaman Industrial Technologies team in Orlando, FL has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanic to join the team.  This position will also provide technical engineering support to internal and external customers

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Disassemble and reassemble various types of rotating equipment, such as pumps, centrifugal, submersible, vertical, turbine, gear reducers, electric motors, and blowers
    • Set tolerances for bearing fit and clearances, motor connections, and testing
    • Operate lifting equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and cranes
    • Provide field service for removal and installation of pumps and electric motors
    • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of control and pumping systems
    • Drive and operate a utility body service crane truck
    • Laser alignment/vibration analysis
    • Fill out service reports
    • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and report all unsafe activity
    • Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
    • Provide a high level of customer service to all customers
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience: 

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Strong technical aptitude (Technical/Vocational training preferred)
    • Experience using AutoCad or SolidWorks strongly preferred
    • Experience reading engineering blueprints
    • Able to estimate service projects using: Manpower, Equipment & Parts
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical experience
    • Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record required
    • Relative understanding of machinery
    • Knowledge of tolerances for bearing fit and clearances, motor connections, and testing
    • Knowledge of operating lifting equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and cranes
    • Knowledge of laser alignment and vibration analysis is a plus 

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to lift and run heavy equipment
    • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
