    As an AP Associate Accountant with our Kaman Precision Products team in Middletown, CT you will work under general supervision of the Supervisor, Accounting with close to moderate supervision and is mainly responsible for Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work under general supervision of the Supervisor, Accounting with close to moderate supervision and is mainly responsible for Accounts Payable. Additional cross training into areas other than the specialized area is required so that adequate backup is provided within the Accounting department. Duties may include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, but are not limited to:
    • Assist in the reconciliation of open and inter-company receivables, payables, and sales. Enter all non-PO invoices into database and file invoices and packing slips. Pull miscellaneous checks requiring a 2nd signature.
    • May be required to run various accounting reports such as manpower, direct labor rate, weekly procurement receipt, and Fuzing reports. General understanding of Western Data Systems (WDS) software and knowledge in Focus reporting with the ability to run queries and reports as needed for reconciliations, audits and for Management analysis.
    • Prepare and maintain various accounting journals, worksheets, rates, and charges.
    • Interface with customers, vendors, and other department personnel to address and resolve billing/payment errors.
    • Provide Backup for at least one accounting functional area other than the specialized assigned area.

    Qualifications

    • Equivalent to high school education encompassing some business coursework or post high school business courses.
    • Knowledge of various accounting procedures; operation of office equipment such as personal computer, calculator, and copier.
    • Solid background in arithmetic.
    • Intermediate data entry skills. Intermediate spreadsheet skills.
    • Over 1 year up to and including 3 years of experience.
