    The Database Administrator will be responsible for installing and configuring production and non-production databases in a windows environment.  Tasks include, but are not limited to, database maintenance, systems optimization, security management and database development.  Research, troubleshooting and issue resolution are integral parts of this position.  Candidate should have experience supporting mission critical database environments.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design, build and implement databases to support internal and vended applications
    • Monitor database performance, system utilization and capacity. Use performance information to improve overall environment or provide faster query responses
    • Control data access permissions and privileges.
    • Ability to automate recurring processes using scripting technologies
    • Interact with peers, management and end-users to determine impact on database changes to application systems
    • Maintain and document System compliance, data and security standards

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Strong Sql Server database administration and Sql development experience
    • Experience in performance tuning, optimization and trouble shooting
    • Automate repeatable administrative tasks using scripts (e.g. Ansi sql, t-sql, PowerShell)
    • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
    • Good interpersonal communication - works well in a team environment and interface with numerous stakeholders.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to clearly and accurately document procedures.
    • Manage and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
    • As the business evolves you will be required to perform other duties as assigned

     

    EDUCATION/PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 3 - 5 years experience in Database Administration.
    • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
    • Familiarity with Microsoft BI Suite, Windows scripting, Unix scripting a plus
    • Knowledge of Oracle databases on Linux Operating platforms a plus

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    • This position is responsible for support of these systems outside of normal work hours and may be required to provide support on holidays and weekends. This individual must be available to respond to “calls” on site within 45 minutes of notification by the company.
