Assists the Lead and/or Supervisor in the departmental processes within the assigned areas.  Leads the effort to ensure the productivity, quality, safety, and day-to-day operations of the areas.  Position is also responsible for performing the processes required in the assigned areas, which will include the Shipping & Receiving and Stockroom areas, to control inventory of materials, hardware, and shop supplies; complete all material handling functions for TATS controlled items per appropriate procedures and certification requirements.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

This position may involve knowledge of confidential information.  Such information will be handled with

1. Kits materials for production.
2. Issues materials as necessary for various areas within operations, to relieve bottlenecked areas needing materials issued.
3. Maintains accurate issuing of materials through accurate recordkeeping.
4. Moves shipments, parts, received materials, etc. as needed in the department.
5. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
6. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
7. Maintains highest standards of quality and quantity.
8. Records required information in company systems.
9. Participates in Kaizen events.
10. Maintains a high degree of cooperation with supervision and other employees.
11. Aggressive in work assignments and learning new jobs.
12. Assists in the training of new employees.
13. Maintains awareness of department schedules.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Ability to use and understand simple and more complex measuring tools.
2. Ability to interpret visual aids.
3. Perform basic shop math.
4. Read and write well enough to understand planning and to record required information into company systems.
5. Ability to operate a forklift.
6. Ability to use a PC to record required information, clock in and out, etc. Ability to train others on the use of the company systems.
7. Ability to use basic and more complex hand tools effectively.
8. Ability to work well with others and in a team environment.
9. Ability to receive instructions and retain the required information.
10. Ability to receive constructive criticism.
11. Ability to communicate well with others.
12. Ability to train new employees and communicate instructions.
13. Ability work in extreme cold. Building is climate controlled, but some work is performed in sub-zero freezers.

Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Two to four years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment and/or inventory/stockroom, and/or shipping and receiving is preferred.
3. Experienced using a PC and related company systems.

Work Authorization

Must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) in order to access export-controlled technology.

Required Safety Training

1. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
2. Attend required safety and environmental training, as determined by the EH&S office.

General:  Maintain personal productivity and quality standards as determined by supervision.  Follow standard departmental/company practices and procedures as outlined by management.  Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition.
