Kaman Air Vehicles is searching for an experienced Adhesive Bonding & Blade Wood Repair Specialist to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. 

• Prepare rotor blades and sub-assemblies for bonding by performing dry-fit operations using drills, cutters, sanders, fixtures and tools.
• Perform precise measuring operations using verniers, micrometers, dial gauges and other measuring and testing equipment as necessary.
• Perform adhesive lay-up operations by preparing various structures for thermal or room temperature cure including wood, composites, sheet metal and machine parts using various adhesives; film, foam, paste and sealants.
• Perform production and repair tasks in accordance with established repair manuals and work instructions.
• Record evidence of work performed on work instructions. 
• Ability to operate planers in order to produce precise thickness boards used for blade repairs.
• Ability to produce tapers in boards to match surfaces in rotor blades in order to achieve glue thickness that match repair manual requirements.
• Produce work aids used to achieve proper clamping pressure in bondements, resulting in compliant glue lines.
• Operate jointers, cut off saws, and mechanical sanders to achieve proper fix-up of boards to mating surfaces.
• Perform tasks to remove discrepant boards from blades using wood working hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to use wood working tools to shape wood surfaces using templates or by eye to blend wood repairs to match blade contours. 
• Report and record defective materials or any other unusual circumstance or condition to supervisor.
• Maintain equipment, fixtures and tooling in an orderly manner; occasionally move fixtures as required. 
• Perform other duties as necessary.

• High school degree, or equivalent, required.
• 3 - 5 years of related experience required.  Experience in wood working required. 
• Requires the use of shop mathematics, including decimals and fractions.  Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, specifications, etc., use of adjustable measuring instruments and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications or the posting, preparation, interpretation, and the use and checking of reports, forms, etc.
